Apidra SoloStar Insulin contains Insulin Glulisine 100 IU/ml, a rapid-acting insulin analog designed for convenient, precise blood sugar control in type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Supplied in a pre-filled SoloStar pen, it allows accurate dosing and easy self-administration.

Apidra works within 10–20 minutes of injection, peaks in about 1 hour, and lasts for 3–4 hours, making it ideal for mealtime glucose control. It helps move glucose from the blood into body cells for energy and stops the liver from producing excess sugar.

This insulin can be used in combination with long-acting insulin or other diabetes medicines for complete glycemic management. It is typically injected subcutaneously within 15 minutes before a meal or shortly after eating.

Possible side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), redness or swelling at the injection site, and mild weight gain. Dose adjustment may be necessary during illness, stress, or changes in activity level.
