Amaryl 2 mg Tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg, an oral antidiabetic medication used to control type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the sulfonylurea class of drugs and works by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin, which helps lower blood sugar levels.

It is typically prescribed to patients whose blood glucose is not adequately managed through diet and exercise alone. Amaryl 2 mg can be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines such as metformin or insulin for better glycemic control.

Regular use helps reduce the risk of diabetic complications such as kidney damage, vision problems, nerve damage, and heart disease. The dose is usually taken once daily before breakfast or the first main meal.
