Doxacard 1 mg Tablet contains Doxazosin, a medication widely prescribed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which the prostate gland enlarges and causes urinary problems in men. By relaxing blood vessels, it allows blood to flow more easily, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney complications. In men with BPH, it works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and relieving symptoms such as difficulty urinating, weak stream, and frequent nighttime urination.

This medication belongs to the alpha-blocker class of drugs. It is usually taken once daily with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. The dosage may vary depending on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, drowsiness, fatigue, and nasal congestion. To minimize dizziness, it’s recommended to rise slowly from sitting or lying positions. Always use this medicine under medical supervision, and do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor
