Thyronorm 112 MCG (Thyroxine Sodium)

Thyronorm 112 mcg contains Thyroxine Sodium, a synthetic form of the natural thyroid hormone T4 (levothyroxine). It is primarily used in the treatment of hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland fails to produce sufficient thyroid hormone. This can result in symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, constipation, and depression.

By restoring adequate hormone levels, Thyronorm helps regulate metabolism, energy production, heart rate, and overall mood. It is also used to manage or prevent goiter (enlarged thyroid gland), often caused by hormone imbalance, radiation treatment, surgery, or cancer.

The medication is usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30–60 minutes before breakfast. Dosage depends on the patient’s age, weight, lab results, and medical condition. Regular blood tests, especially TSH levels, are necessary to monitor effectiveness and adjust dosage.

Common side effects (usually from incorrect dosing) may include palpitations, irritability, insomnia, or excessive sweating. Always take it under medical supervision to avoid complications from over- or under-treatment.
